Solomon

Verse 1

The fight has escalated
was brought before the king.
neither mother faded
so they kissed the ring.

Each lay their claim before him
stated motherhood.
The king who was before grim
smiled and stood.

Chorus

With righteous judgement
the axe will come to fall
It's time to face the block and
win or lose it all

Verse 2

The call was royal
misguided nonetheless
Who has been disloyal?
no one would confess

Come the day of sentence
silence inbetween
Cries were the repentance
in the unfolding scene

Chorus

With righteous judgement
the axe will come to fall
It's time to face the block and
win or lose it all

Verse 3

The king turned red with rage as
both had played a game.
When justice turned the pages
they hung their head in shame.

The judgement passed onto them
was to be the same.
Their plea for mercy proven
utterly in vain.

Chorus

With righteous judgement
the axe will come to fall
It's time to face the block and
win or lose it all

Explanation:

Everyone knows the righteous king Solomon, who, when presented with two women, which both claim motherhood of a child, decides to split the child, so both of them get one half each. The real mother cries out and begs the king to spare the child, rescinding her claim so it can live. The wise king recognizes the mother and grants her the child.

This story is a lot more sinister. As it turns out, neither woman is the mother of the child. Neither yields and it is, in fact, split in half before anyone can speak up. The king, whose cunning plan has been foiled by two impostors, boils with rage. To let justice prevail, he sentences them to the same fate as the child. Their pleas fall on deaf ears, as he is furious about the deception and they, too, are split in half.

The story is full of allegories. The fake mothers, regardless of their sexes represent modern society, which will fight tooth and nail for personal gain. The King represents the harsh justice, which will fall for false allegations and punish with a lot of force, given the right circumstances. The child is a new generation, completely screwed over by the decisions of others.
